i recently "lost the plot" due to over indulging in cannabis.i gave it up and its only been a week but i feel like im loosing my mind eg seeing walls move hearing a ringing in my ears, feeling hopless with intense fear,feeling like "im not here" . would citalopram help get me back on track to recovery? my anxiety problems make me panic even more and i dont see myself improving. anyone experienced this before? thanks 18 yr old EX-pot smoker
So your anxiety is worse because your off cannabis. Whereas Cannabis actually causes anxiety. You have panic attacks because your nervous because you are showing signs of anxiety. Well its sad but true your problems are all in your mind. You just have to convince yourself that you are in control. THC affects your brain but it does not control it. You are the controller of your mind and body and you need to convince yourself that you are still in control. However this is not always easy because infact even if you tell yourself you are in control, somewhere on the subconscious level you are being told that you can't handle the pressure.
To solve this annoying problem you just need to keep reinforcing in your mind and even saying out loud so your ears can hear it that you are in control.
Personally I use to get panic attacks out of nowhere. I would be at the grocery store shopping and boom panic attack. I wasn't in a bad mood or anything so naturally I thought something was seriously wrong with me. After dozens of hospital visits from these panic attacks I got to thinking "How can I convince myself on the subconsnious level to stop this?"
I answered it every morning by either "Today is going to be an awesome day" or "Today I just don't give a $@%^ "
Over time I began to notice less attacks, of the few that did occur they were brief cause I'd just yell at myself argueing as if I was somone else talking to myself that I'm over reacting and being stupid.
I've trained myself over time to only think about what I want to and not about what other people are talking about. If its interesting cool. If its not I don't give a shat.
Try what works best for you. As for me I don't have addictions or withdrawels (except from tobacco)
and yes actually I use to smoke weed daily
