i am curious about using cymbalta for help.
Hello beverly a. Yes, a lot of people have good things to say about cymbalta. I was on it for close to a year and a half. The side effects are generally minimal. People do take it often for just that reason, pain, iI seems to work well in that area. Starters dose is 30mg, and most people do well on 60mg. But thats generally for depression. As a pain medication it can go higher. Best wishes to you, you might hear from some of the other members on thier thoughts, and how cymbalta works for them alone, and as a combination of another drug(s).
I have not personally used cymbalta for pain, but do use Lyrica, & it is great. There are side effects with any medication, so you will probably get pros & cons about almost all of them. Neurontin (gabapentin) is another seizue drug used for chrontic pain use. There are many different ways to go here. Welcome to the site & I hope you have a good experience with the opinions given...
Hey Beverly, yes, you have just asked a question about half my symptoms, and problems. For some reason Fibromyalgia comes as a package deal with all these symptoms, (syndromes), and more. Yes, I take Cymbalta, have been taking it for years. (120 mg). When I first started taking it, it worked very well. Now, well people forget pain easily to know if after years the same med is working at the same level. The only way to find out is to get off the med, and stay off if it, for several months until it is completly out of your system. I don't have the energy right now to do all that, so I just keep on truckin' so to speak. good luck!
