I'm on clonazepam but doc sed he isnt giving me them bk and this is only my fourh wk on them
Hey ka koo,
The difference between these drugs has to do with how quickly they act and how long they stay in the system working. So let me explain, lorazepam acts slightly more quickly than the clonazepam while the clonazepam stays in the body longer than the lorazepam. So each has its advantages, lorazepam acts a little more quaickly, while clonazepam stays in the body longer. Please note this is a generalization and not everyone responds exactly the same.
As they are both for anxiety and fear it is difficult to say which would be the best for you. Are you getting any kind of therapy besides drug therapy for dealing with the social fear issues? Is your doctor suggesting this? I recommend you check into this with him/her especially if he/she does not want to prescribe the clonazepam or lorazepam. Learning to cope mentally is part of the battle, while medication can help the physical.
Wishing you the best,
