They recommend that you be off the Pill for about 6 months before trying to conceive so that all the Pill's hormones are out of your system and that your own hormones are back to normal. The Pill supresses ovulation and also changes the lining of the uterus making it harder for a fertilized egg to implant itself and also can change cervical mucus to the point of affecting sperms motility or ability to "swim" to find an egg to fertilize. Once all these changes are back to normal then it is easier to conceive. Good Luck!
