I've had a lot of trouble with migraine mediction and I'm only 17. The only huge problem its giving me is trouble sleeping. I'm getting nightmares and I crash easily. I awake in the middle of the night a lot, can't really remember my dreams, but i wake and I'm scared. Right now I am on Amitripline, i think thats how it's spelled, and I used to be on Norepinephrine.. I think thats it. I'm at 30 mg at night, and IDK what to do.. Any advice, or things I should speak to my neuorologist about?
You definitely should go back and talk to your neurologist. There are many treatment options available and often it takes a while before you find the best option for you.
I am 24, and I started having migraines very young too. I was about 11 or 12, having at least one migraine a week. It continued on for years, no Dr. took me seriously... I had one that told me it may just be something I have to learn to live with! Luckily when I was 21, I found a wonderful Dr. who put me on Zomig. You only take it when you get a migraine and it worked miracles for me! Imitrex is good too, its the same type of med as the Zomig. Talk to your Dr., and keep talking until someone listens... remember they arent always right and you can get a new dr if you have to. Also, I havent had a migraine in almost 6 months now... not sure why but I think I may just have grown out of it. Have hope, it does get better!
