Hi all, I'm almost on the other side of my lexapro withdrawal (or at least I hope so) it' been HELL, I'm thinking about trying Sam-e but am petrified of taking anything regular or herbal after what lexapro has put me through ... so I'd appreciate any info you may have about Sam-e the good the bad and the ugly... especially if you know anything bad or ugly about stopping the herb ... thanks!!! :>

Sam E is an over the counter drug you can buy without prescription. That should tell you what you want to know. Is known for having some mild anti D effects but really isn't what one would buy if one was serious about their illness.
Same with herbals. More a distraction than any real relief.
Lexapro, like any anti d has side effects which some of us cannot handle and some can. Such an experience with one anti d is not a measure of all anti d's though. Most will have at least some side effrects but usually no more than about 2 weeks. Any more than that and it's time to discuss with your doc. Usually things like headaches, gastric, dry mouth and minor irritations are experienced but they do usually stop after a short time.
My suggestion is if you want Sam E, go for it. But don't expect any miracles. Look it up on RXlist.
