I have to take other medicines(Viibryd for one) and migraine meds also and I was questioning whether Bentyl helps with loose bowels in the morning..I need Imodium right now in the AM but maybe I can stop that and go with Bentyl. It was prescribed for me and I tried my first one today.I'm drinking plenty of fluids.
I haven't used Bentyl for irritable bowel syndrome. The link below has a few reviews, which you may find useful.
I have had IBS (with constipation) for about 30 years (off and on). I have used Dicyclomine (generic of Bentyl) for the last 8 years, both the 10 mg and 20 mg doses.
The 20 mg seems to be more helpful than the 10 mg for the more severe episodes. However, I developed diverticulosis 3 years ago and when I get IBS coupled with my diverticular problem, it is unbelievably painful ! I changed to a new GI doctor a couple of years ago and he put me on hyoscyamine 0.125 mg along with Miralax for my IBS problems and it seems to be working better than the Bentyl. He also put me on a special ProBiotic which has also been effective. Drink lots of water! Good luck!!

I am on Bentyl (20mg 4x's/day) and sometimes Imodium isn't enough, would anaspaz be considered then?
