I've been off and on antidepressants for several years and I still get what I describe as "brain surges." They are very mild but not natural. I never, ever, experienced anything like that until after being on antidepressants. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
Hello rvnew. Patti is right on, we call them brain zaps. I've been on psychiatric drugs for most of my life, and have found that as well as reading, hearing other peoples talking about them, that they happen, but only with particular drugs, and drug famlies. Some of the meds/drugs that people will talk about regarding brain zaps, are wellbutrin, zoloft, prozac, lexapro, paxil, anafranil. These top the list so to speak. Its almost always felt when stopping , or cutting back on the drug. Its common, and they almost always disappear completely. Not to worry,
