I have ben treated for 8 yrs with some relief. Now I have to go to a pain clinic for my 1st time and dont want to go through what I did when 1st diagnosed. Any1 know my situation and can help?
Danette, I agree with the other poster. If you can handle the side effects, Lyrica is probably your best bet. I was on it as soon as the FDA approved it for fibro, but 2 months ago my insurance decided they didn't want to apy for it anymore. Girl, I didn't think it was helping that much until I had to stop it. OMG, I so wish I could get back on it. Suggest it. to your new pain doc. Just tell them you know others that Lyrica has seemed to help. Now your insurance may want you to try something cheaper first like neurotin (didn't help me), amitrypaline(didn't help me). Everyone is different, & react differently to all meds so it's kind of a trial & error type of thing especially with fibro patients. Another is Savella. Some reccomendCymbalta, but my doc doesn't like the side effects coming off of it. So see, it's different for everyone. Good luck & do some research...
Welcome, if you are new to this site!!
You may also want to ask about Savella, some fibro patients have had good results with it.
Lyrica is a good choice as well, I agree with both posters!! I couldn't take it due to side effects, but everyone is different, you may do famously on it!
Best wishes and let us know what happens?
