I am a female, 30 years old. I understand that Accutane may not be taken during pregnancy. But my question is what if I take Accutane now for some time (let's say for six months) and then in 2 years will want to have a baby? Is there any guarantee that side effects will not do harm to my birth-giving potential in future?
From the research data available it is Accutane (isotretinoin) can cause defects in a fetus if you become pregnant while taking isotretinoin and for 30 days afterwards. So after 30 days it is okay to become pregnant. If you are planning to become pregnant in 2 years time then it should be okay.
