For the past 6 months or so i get excruciating pain in my neck/shoulders/ mid back it feels like very bad burning and nothing i do can make it go away, i tried heat/ice/laying down but it just goes away on its own within 20 min to an hour. If i rub the tissue around the burning it sometimes feels good and if i roll my shoulders it will give temp relief while im rolling them it feels kind of good but the second i stop it comes back. I was told its nerve pain but it just doesnt seem like nerve pain to me im wondering if its muscle spasms?
your right i don't think it is nerve pain at all, but muscle spasms. i have had muscle spasms all my life and that is wha they feel like, you might of over exerted yourself, pulled a muscle and it just healing, give it 3-4 weeks, no change then go get an x-ray. i hoped i was of some help good luck. amber
It does sound more like muscle spasms but the burning can be a pinched nerve as well. Have you thought of massage or physical therapy to alleviate the problem? I recommend either for relief from the problem. Another option along with the physical therapy is a mild muscle relaxant. Have to get a script from the doctor.
