I want to know if tramadol is for moderate or severe pain because i was on a previous medication called"Hydrocotodone which i beleive was better but, it appears that i am now on a more mderate medication that does'nt seem to help my back pain
I took tramadol for more then 10 yrs. I've learned a few things about it. One is it doesn't work unless you take it regularly, not wait until you have pain then try to chase it. Also 50 mg doses are useless. I took 100 mg every 6 hrs. It did help me that way. There is also an extended release tablet that I found worked much better but my insurance wouldn't pay for it. Tramadol and hydrocodone about equal in pain relief.
Hi, Hydrocodone is considered a 'stronger' analgesic than Tramadol, which is prescribed for 'moderate' pain. I also used to take Tramadol for a back injury, prescribed @ 100mg every 4 hours @ a maximum of 400mg per day. I agree with Kaismama, Tramadol is more effective if taken regularly
