Really I'd just like to know if I am making the right decision. He also put me on Zoloft and says he just wants me to be a happy member of society. I know benzos can cause other issues, any success stories would be helpful!
My doctor wants me to start klonipin long term for PTSD and horrible anxiety, good idea?

I tried to respond using the brand name of the med, but it will not go thru. I'll try using the generic for the med. I take 1 mg Clonazepam every nite & it does help my anxiety & it helps me go to sleep. It helps most people w/anxiety a lot but not everyone w/sleep. It really is supposed to be used short-term, but I've been taking it for almost 2 yrs. I recommend it at the lowest possible dose that give you a benefit. At a high dose there could be withdrawal probs. Zoloft worked for my depression for many yrs but then it pooped out. Wishing you the best.
Clonezapam works well for at 72. I was unaware of the side effects. Doc told me not to read
Instructions. Currently, steady on 1.50mg daily for the last 10 years. Why are so many afraid of benzodiazepines? we can thank the drug companies for that. We cannot control what others do to abuse this med. you do need to careful with benzodiazepines and be committed if they work for you. I have had no unreasonable side effects. Keep in mind out chemistry is different.
