I have been taking the drug for several years, but this year my Dr. said he would pay a big fine if he prescribed it for me. He said it is due to the fact that I recently turned 65 and that the new regulations in the AFCA prohibited him from prescribing the medicine for me.
I don't know where that is coming from. The affordable care act has to with insurance. The CMS has a list of meds that arent' recommended for those over 65 and insurance companies are jumping on the band wagon and not paying for them, but they have no punitive action. If the day comes when a dr is fined for ordering an antihistamine its time to stop saying we're a democracy because we will be in communism deep. Someone who is on a medication without trouble doesn't magically have a problem with it because they have a birthday. When I see my dr I'll ask about it, you can be sure of that.
You aren't the first one to ask about it.
