she cut to 14000/month. Now my numbers are borderline insufficient and she wants me on 2000 per day. That is twice the recommended amount. Does that make sense to you or would I be at risk for overdose?
It makes absolute sense. The recommended amounts were made when they had no idea how important Vit D is or how much the body really needed. We are also not getting much sun because of the skin cancer factor. If you live in a cold climate, there is no way you could get enough sun to maintain your vitamin d level. I take 2000 a day, and when I had my level done, my new dr said, this is the first time I've ever seen a normal vit d level.
