If there is a drunk person in public having a panic attack, can an EMT give them sedation to force them on an ambulance? Should a doctor administer more sedation once at the hospital?
No they will not administer anti-anxiety or sedative medication. They cannot tell the level of intoxication and administer medication appropriately and safely. They should not be treated with benzodiazapines in hospital either. They will be treated like a drunk which is appropriate.
