All others (hip, legs, shoulders, neck) are ok. He wants me to start Forteo injections. I do yoga 2x a week, run a little, play tennis and sand volleyball, do weights. From all I have read, Forteo seems to cause more problems than it cures. Injecting myself with this drug does not seems quite right. What are others thoughts, experiences, results, insights?
I wonder the same thing myself. My endochronologist just prescribed Forteo--I have not injected it yet. The marketing of it--the slick brochures, DVD, phone calls from the speciality pharmacy, encouraging me to buy it, etc. instantally made me skeptical. I just think it is wrong for drug companies to have such marketing tactics. Can't the drug just stand on it's own? The DVD repeated the same message over and over-- It didn't really talk about the risks much or side effects or how well women are doing. It was 90% about getting me to approve the drug. I insist on going to a class and hearing stories of others' experiences. I have L4-5 bone loss and also in the neck.
