I have an abnormal growth under the skin in hand that seems to be spreading. I have visited a hand specialist who had me take x-rays and an MRI. He still has no idea what the growth is and has scheduled me for a biopsy by way of surgery.
2 questions:
1. Couldn't he just take a biopsy by way of a needle?
2. He does not want to perform surgery while I am awake because he has no idea what the growth is and does not want any numbing medicine to spread the growth if it is cancerous. Does this sound proper?
