Would there be a reason? She gives me clonazepam and just recently gave me diazepam which i have yet to take. I get nervous with new meds. Hence my anxiety. I am also on an anti depressant. But she has never brought up a beta blocker would there be any reason?
Propranolol when brought in as a "mental health" drug only provides short-term relief from common anxiety. Propranolol was introduced for cardiac arrhythmias and other heart related diseases. I read somewhere it was being tested to treat migraine headaches.
Propranolol's over all purpose is to slow the heart beat or or in some cases regulate it. You're going to get that with the Clonazepam and Diazepam (some anti-depressant will slow the heart rate down as well).
Only you and your doctor know the extent of your anxiety, as well as your triggers. It's very possible that Propranolol won't provide the results you need. We can guess all day, ask her why.
