... try a non narcotic pain reliever (back pain) I would like some opinions on tapering the norco and also a good substitute for it
You don't have allot of choice in non narcotic pain relievers. The NSAIDS are an option. Unfortunately the strong pain meds are narcotics. Depending what is wrong with your back, there may be other things you can do for the back pain.
You don't really have any options for a good pain reliever as the NSAIDS probably wont help your pain the way the norco does. Depending what type of back problem you have you may find an epidural may work or a neurostimulater.
If you stop the norco taper slow.
Hi..would you Dr agree to Cordisone shots in your back? Talk to him about it and you wouldn't have to take any meds... Just an idea.
I have Severe Back Pain due to Scheuermann's Kyphosis, osteoarthritis & kyphoscoliosis... my pain management doc put me on Cymbalta (duloxetine) and while it didn't take away all the pain it made a HUGE dent in my pain level... I love it!! Helped me cut pain meds down dramatically.
