Bactrim DS is a sulfa antibiotic that is usually used for urinary infections. It is a very good antibiotic & is rapidly absords (sp?) into the bloodstream. Unless you are having severe pain from your infection & you use good handwashing technique & wear gloves when in contact with pts. there is no good reason to stay home after the first 24 hrs. If in doubt ask the Dr who prescribed it or your nurse supervisor who will know their policy on infection control.
