It is important that you take Tri-Sprintec every day and at the same time every day for it to be effective. Missing pills increases the risk of pregnancy.
If you miss one of the first 21 pills (the active pills), or remember it later, take the missed pill as soon as you remember and take the next pill at your regular time, even if this means taking two pills at once. You do not need a backup method of contraception, as you will be adequately protected against pregnancy.
If you miss an inactive pill it does not matter - you will still be protected.
Breakthrough bleeding is common especially in the first three months of starting Tri-Sprintec.
Talk with your doctor if this does not settle or the bleeding is heavy.
