Decreased sexual desire or ability are common side effects of this medication.-
List of possible side effects for future reference:

Interactions between your selected drugs (Paxil & Viagra)
No results found - however, this does not necessarily mean no interactions exist. ALWAYS consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Other drugs that your selected drugs interact with
Paxil (paroxetine) interacts with more than 400 other drugs.
Viagra (sildenafil) interacts with more than 100 other drugs.
Interactions between your selected drugs and food
sildenafil ↔ food
Applies to: Viagra (sildenafil)
GENERALLY AVOID: Coadministration with grapefruit juice may slightly increase the oral bioavailability and delay the onset of action of sildenafil. The proposed mechanism is inhibition of CYP450 3A4-mediated first-pass metabolism in the gut wall by certain compounds present in grapefruits. In a randomized, crossover study with 24 healthy male volunteers, ingestion of 250 mL of grapefruit juice one hour before and concurrently with a 50 mg dose of sildenafil increased the mean area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) of sildenafil and its pharmacologically active N-desmethyl metabolite by 23% and 24%, respectively, compared to water. Peak plasma concentrations (Cmax) were unaltered, but the time to reach sildenafil Cmax was prolonged by 0.25 hour. The observed increase in sildenafil bioavailability is unlikely to be of clinical significance in most individuals. However, pharmacokinetic interactions involving grapefruit juice are often subject to a high degree of interpatient variability and may be significant in the occasional susceptible patient. Indeed, one subject in the study had a 2.6-fold increase in sildenafil concentrations.
MANAGEMENT: It may be advisable to avoid administration of sildenafil with grapefruit juice to prevent potential toxicity and delay in onset of action.
I ran this interaction check so you may discuss it with your Dr., and as you can read there are no interactions between Paxil & Viagra... of course as it mentions " Always check with your Dr. / Pharmacist first.-
Never self medicate, very important!
All the best.-
As mentioned by Maso, decreased sexual drive is a common side effect of mosr antidepressants. Since you are a man, there is Viagra to combat the erectile dysfunction but it may not increase the sex drive. My doctor recommends Wellbutrin as it for some people increases the sex drive. It is an antidepressant that can be combined with other antidepressants such as Paxil.
When and if you come off the Paxil as long as you decrease your dose slowly over much time you will have little to no withdrawl from it. It is critical to decrease the dosage slowly over several weeks though.
Hope this helps,
I think like Maso told you this is a common side effect not only of Paxil but of the rest of the drugs such as celexa, prozac,Lexapro, Zoloft and Pristiq and effexor the one that I seem to hear the least when it comes to this side effect is Wellbutrin. I don't know how to give an honest answer other than to say I am unsure when it comes to discontinuing the Paxi and how difficult it is but I do feel sure that when the time comes that your physician will give you the guidance that will help you discontinue using it in a way that will be best for you talk with him/her about your concerns about both the side effects of the Paxil and also your concerns about having a hard time discontinuing the medication you take care
I have Bipolar Disorder and I am currently on Cymbalta. I had been on Paxil in the past. In fact, I have pretty much tried everything before ending up with the Cymbalta. It does work great, but I have no sex drive. I have not had one for years. My husband is on Paxil and has suddenly developed Erectile Dysfunction. I firmly believe there is a link between anti depressants and lack of libido. It is a frustrating situation to say the least and not all drugs like Viagra and Cialis are safe to take. They do have side effects for many people.
So what do people like my husband and I do? Any suggestions. Good thing we have a strong marriage.
