hello everyone, i am 50 years old drinking alcohol from last 25 years. is it safe drug for quiting alcohol. i drink every day. plz help me about this... how many pills i sud have and which time is better and how many months.
As a fperson who understands what you're saying here, you do realize a pill alone will not do a thing, and we're talking not months, but a lifetime of recovery. You may already be well aware of that, however, based on the question it's worth putting out there.
What other measures / steps / actions are you taking?
Hi, Disulfiram will help to prevent you drinking alcohol from now on & in the future, but it won't help you detox from alcohol. For this you need a controlled detox program/plan, and a Benzodiazepine, such as Librium, to safeguard you through your withdrawal. The prescriber should be able to advise you on dosage of Disulfiram, but a standard dose is 200mg-250mg once per day in the morning, dissolved in a glass of water.
