I need to know the effects it may have on the live because I used loratab so long that it caused liver damage
Hey C ASEYV,
The literature for methadone states the following:
Methadone has not been extensively evaluated in patients with hepatic insufficiency. Methadone is metabolized by hepatic pathways, therefore patients with liver impairment may be at risk of accumulating Methadone after multiple dosing.
Methadone can accumulate in the damaged liver and build up causing the need for dosage adjustment.
So it won't damage it in the same way acetominophen in the Lortab did, but you will still need to take into consideration the impaired liver function while taking methadone.
