PLEASE
I'm sorry you are in this dilemma. You're probably being jerked around (like the rest of us) because of your pain. They assume you just want the meds, especially if you're making the history you put in this question known to them. I will address part of your plea for help by encouraging you to find a support group in your area. It can be recovery, AA or even Al Anon. Why do I recommend this?
Because of how you describe your age and your situation. I'm not sure how you got such a wide variety of meds in the past, but if it's just DDD it will be hard to get meds unless you get a fresh MRI that shows significant degeneration. Everyone has DDD to some extent, it's the price we pay for walking upright. I hope you can reach out for a group that will give you support, fellowship and resources to help you cope.
I have almost NO disc material, they're no degenerative, their disintegrated and even I cannot say I've had all the meds you've listed here. Don't do this life alone, reach out. No need to fire back at me, it's just an opinion. Hope this helps.
Lets not fall into the mistake the DEA is making, that we can judge another's pain. But you not having had a regular doc is hurting you. Find a primary, then get a referrel to a pain clinic. Primary's don't write for narcs anymore, there is too many restrictions on them. But you do need a support group to gripe at when you can't get your pain treated, just like the rest of us do.
I would be helpful to know more information. What are the symptoms you are having? Have you ever been referred to physical therapy to try various modalities. Have you ever tried a Tens Unit? There are a few things that a pm doctor might ask if you have done and when the last time was that you tried anything that gave you some relief?
It is better to try what they recommend... before jumping in with both feet and getting yourself hyped up on drugs which isn't going to be a positive direction to head... especially with so much responsibility on your hands.
Have you ever had a "nerve block" or "trigger point" injections or botox injections in your back??? The last one is the best method I found that actually had long-term affects. There are things to try that will keep you on your feet and clear-headed too.
Just some thoughts hear. You would be surprised at how much more cooperative a doctor can be when the patient is also open-minded to various types of treatment.
I hope you have a journey that enables you to focus on your family, you and your life. Many blessings and healing energy are coming your way.
