One of my meds is oxycodone 10mg. I am concerned about getting stopped by a HP and then getting ticketed for DUI. Is that possible even though it is prescribed?
Kaismama is right. They wont test your sobriety unless they have reason to think you are impaired. If your dose doesnt make you feel sleepy or impaired when you take it, you wont likely have problems but if you are texting and driving and swerving or something like, and they decide to test you and you come up positive for drugs, they will site you even if the drugs werent the cause of the swerving. If they pull you over and you appear impaired-your eyes arent tracking or you slur your words they will test you. So you have to give them a reason.
Absolutely Not! If you are driving erratically an officer may pull you over and investigate. If, as a result of that investigation, it is determined that you are under the influence of a substance which could be the cause of your suspicious driving, the legal action will probably be escalated.
