I can not stand the fact that I can never drink while taking this. Is it true? I do not have afib. My usual heart rate is 80 to 90. It has been that high for years with occasional higher readings. However recently I wound up in the hospital because my heart rate was over 100 and would not go down over a 3 day period. My doctor put me on 120 long acting. I can not stand not having coffee and alcohol. I now have one cup of coffee a day and no wine. It has been 4 days. I can not go my whole life without wine and coffee. I can't take beta blockers I am asthmatic. Any suggestion.
Your heart rate increases with the intake of caffeine and alcohol. You are on medication and regardless if you weren't I would not drink nothing that could trigger my heart rate it's not worth it. Try decaffeinated drinks and no non alcoholic beverages.
