i take generic adderall barr mfg, the ndc is eleven digits, the very last two digits are 00, this one seemed to have a combination of weaker strength pills and some that were correct, my new bottle numbers end with 02, and all seem to be correct in strength, what is the difference between the two?
As far as NDC numbers go, the first 5 digits identify the company, the next 4 identify the drug, and the last 2 indicate the quantity in the bottle. As far as a mixed batch of strength, as defined by the FDA, a generic drug must contain +/- 20% of active ingredient on 90% of samples. That means 10% of samples may contain greater or less than 20% of active ingredient. A brand name medication manufacturer often has tighter quality assurance (QA) standards to uphold the integrity and reputation of their patented medication .
