Hi michele, One easy way is they are in the same family like you know But they are different enough where People that don't do well on one the other works great. But you really can't compare them it's much like an apple to an orange. But I can also tell you Zoloft was one of the first SSRI'S out on the market and many of the others build off of them. One good thing is with Celexa many people reach the blood lever about 2 weeks sooner than the others. So I hope your doctor has a plan to start the Celexa prior to you being off of the Zoloft all together so you don't have to deal with the SSRI withdrawals. Also, they are enough alike that if the doctor starts the new one soon enough you should not have the side effects that we get when we go on to the SSRI'S AND you may reach the level quicker. Don't worry there are many different things that we'll get you back to whatever normal is LOL oh also don't even pay attention to the milligram's of these two just like I said in many ways the Celexa is stronger the Zoloft even though the mg is lower so don't try to match them they are just different like cousins. Best of luck to you.
