What is the difference between proparacaine and tetracaine?

Hello,

They are very similar. Both belong to the same drug class: Ophthalmic anesthetics.

Proparacaine drops is a topical local anesthetic. It works on the nerves to decrease pain.

Tetracaine drops is an anesthetic. It works by blocking nerve impulses, which results in loss of feeling.
