I have very bad nasal congestion and watery eyes
A cold is caused by a virus, allergies are caused by exposure to allergans. Nasal congestion and watery eyes could be either one. However you usually feel other effects if its a cold, like aching and tired, maybe a scratchy throat. I can always tell the difference. Also a cold is self limiting, it will go away in about 2 weeks. The allergy will go away when the allergan is removed. You can try an antihistamine if the symptoms are from either one, it may help either one.
