Whats the difference between ativan and valium?

They are in the same class of drugs, Valium us stronger.

Being in same class, does that mean they are the same thing, just one stronger than the other?? Does this mean if you take one of then, taking the other will do same thing if dose adjusted??

Ativan is shorter acting. Other then that they are used pretty much the same way.

I have been taking Xanax for years..finally weaning off it..in the past..was prescribed Valium made me feel spaced out..later... Ativan for 3 months..in hindsight Ativan gave me a buzz unlike Xanax so a little afraid of it... like others have noted..it is shorter acting than Valium
