My pcp has asked me to think about taking one of these drugs, has anyone got any thoughts on these two drugs. Like has anyone had a bad experience, taking either one of these drugs. Thanks
Hello Liz. I know ran across yet another one of your older questions. I looked up the two drugs and truth be told, the side effects to taking either one are almost identical. Mind you, I would not know how either one might interact with other medications that you are currently taking. Have a enjoyable Labor Day. bye for now, pledge
I can only answer about the dicyclomine, which I've been on for more than 20 years. I have IBS and it works extremely well for me. I've not had any problems with it, including side effects. It's the generic version of bentyl and relatively cheap. I take 20 mgs, 4x day. That's the highest recommended dose, but like I said, I've used it for over 20 yrs. I would assume you'd take a much smaller dose. I have a couple friends that take it and they're also very happy with it.
I hope this helps and enjoy your holiday!
Bentyl works better for my cramps, but the downside is that it makes me very tired and I feel almost deflated.
Hyoscomine doesn't work as well at relieving cramps, but I've had absolutely no side effects with it.
I'm currently taking hyoscomine (.125mg) during the day and bentyl (20mg) at night.
