... Then my sma artery closed down causing severe perotinitis. At this time to save my life they removed a 3rd of my small intestine and a quarter of the large. Ever since I have been fighting diarrhea and constipation. Now I am starting with horrible abdominal pain that takes me off my feet for days. Any suggestions as I am going to a gastroenterologist tomorrow. Not the original droit or that saved my life. He is in another state and I need help
Hey, So sorry to hear of your troubles. Funny, I never even THOUGHT of my pancreas (aka PAINcreas) till it went wonky. Such is life, eh? Chuckle.
Have you been diagnosed with IBS? Sure sounds like what you have. I also have had the exact same problem (minus the 1/3 colin removed! Yikes) on a lesser scale, I'm sure. I was told it was due to IBS. It took me years to get the right balance of meds (like stool softner vs nothing. Never took anything for diarrhea). Listen to your gut (literally). When it is tipping one way or another? After meds? Food?
Also, do you keep a pain/food/activity/stress/etc journal? Such records are key to help the drs help you. You could even ask the dr out of state if he'd look at them. Maybe you (or drs) will be able to correlate things and find a better balance.
Hope this helps a little. You're so not alone! Have you tried DailyStrength? I sear that site helped me so much it's mind boggling. Take care, Robbin
