I cant get rid of that first word on my question. It puts it automatically. Sorry about that but please help
I am a diabetic and suffer terribly from neuropathy and I have a hard time walking and sleeping as well from my feet pain. I am open to any suggestions, tips to help the pain or meds to help the pain. Thanks so much for your time.
Gabapentin and/or lyrica helps nerve pain.
See what your Dr has to say. When it comes to pain (therefor, pain meds) it is best not to go in asking for anything specific, the red flags are flying these days and when we go in with legit pain and start naming drugs Drs run and hide.. I use a can, I never stand for ling periods unless one foot is slightly elevated, then I switch which foot often, sleeping in fetal with a thin pillow between knees or you could try elevating that foot slightly as well.
I'm on 2400mg gabapentin (3 doses of 800 mg) and then 1.5 mg klonipin and 50 mg tramadol for sleep. Orthotics in my shoes. I know the doctors may not want to prescribe those medications. I'm just telling you what works for me.
I also have neuropathy and my feet sting and burn so bad I can't even go outside in the summer anymore until the sun is going down. Gabapentin has saved me as for as the pain, but only if I don't get hot, nothing seems to help that. But I am on 1800mg daily, 1200mg at night time. But sometimes I take Benadril lat night to help me sleep. Good luck.
