I was diagnosed with a form of cellulitis, edema... I went to Patient First and all I was advised to do was change my diet, wear compression socks and keep off my feet... No medication was prescribed, does this sound right to you? The swell ifin my feet started last Sunday, but progressively worsened throughout the week. I work 3 jobs so I'm no stranger to feet that feel swollen, but not this swollen! Also is it s good idea the soak my feet! The doctor who saw me did not talk much or answer many of my questions. I imagine the bacteria entered through a scrape I got on my leg 2 Friday's ago, and last Saturday I had to be out in water to drain it away from my house, i feel like that's when I probably got sick. Just seems like I'd be put on some medicine
It sounds like you had less than a wonderful experience. Cellulitis for me means 5 days of IV antibiotics and then an oral course of cephalexin to finish up with.
Compression socks are great so long as you wear the right size. For the amount of fluid you are complaining of diuretics like furosemide are normally prescribed. (e.g. I lost 35 pounds of water in 2 weeks).
You also have to limit your salt intake (Sodium chloride salt); do not use 'low salt' salt as this contains masses of Potassium chloride. You need to limit it to 1 gm per day (about a sixth of a mildly heaped teaspoon).
You could discuss this with a proper doctor
