... ,pain, ibs etc... is this medication alone enough?
Escitalopram is an anti-anxiety/depression type med, as far as I know. I also have IBS, and there are a few drugs they do prescribe for it, but for me they were ineffective. There is a drug called Linzess, which is used for IBS. I don't recall any of the others recommended, I think it varies depending on which side of the IBS spectrum you fall. (Constipation vs diarrhea), but Linzess is used for both, just different dosages.
Everyone's experience with Fibromyalgia is different. We take different meds and doses depending on what our bodies need. There are 3 drugs FDA approved for fibromyalgia Lyrica, Cymbalta and Savella. There are many others that are also used (amitriptyline, gabapentin & effexor to name a few). It just depends on what your body responds to. Feel free to ask any questions here. There are many knowledgeable people here to help you.
