I was given ibuprofen and co codamels which didn't have much effect. So went back to th dr and was prescribed naproxen. It was the lower dose one which I was told I could use with the co codamel but not the ibuprofen. I tried this for a month, but it didn't touch the pain. So I was then prescribed the higher dose of Naproxen, but told not to take anything else. I'm into me second week of taking them, and the pain is worse then ever. I have also just been found to be anemic and am on iron tablets. Is there any connection to why the naproxen isn't working.
I was diagnosed as having arthritis in my ankle just over a year ago, after many months complaining?

I would be concerned about a possible bleed somewhere like your stomach if you are anemic while on naproxen. Have they tested your stools for blood? Do you get any abdominal discomfort? I have arthritis in my hands and knees and I have tried just about every NSAID there is and it doesnt stop the pain. I'm currently taking Mobic but it doesnt do much.
