... from stress I didn't realize, I was stressed,is it safe, and wil it work over time, iam on30 MG's daily. Please will it help me, and take away numbness in mouth and arms, and also have burning and fingers get tingling to thank you for any information is.
Your question isn't clear. What medication are you on at 30 mg daily? Neuropathy means tingling, pain and numbness, often in the extremities... hands and feet, sometimes arms and legs. When you include your mouth, it may be possible neuropathy, but anxiety also is the possible cause.
What type of "blood" cancer did you have? I don't see the connection between leukemia and diabetic neuropathy unless it's due to a medication. Can you explain? Do you have any problems with your spine in your neck or lumbar areas? This can definitely put pressure on the nerves in those areas and cause neuropathy in the areas you're talking about. Stress will always make any condition worse, and it's something you will want to avoid as best you can. Exercise and relaxation are big de-stressors. I'm having the same problems you're describing and I am improving them, but the difference is I'm not diabetic. Possibly I can give useful ideas.
I hope you write back to clarify what you've said.
Anne; Yes there should be no problems with taking Cymbalta to help with the nerve pain and anxiety of your diabetes I would not worry about the blood cancer of 9 years ago. But you should know Cymbalta can increase stress and other symptoms that you are taking it for. This last of about 1 to 2 weeks then those side effects go away if any are just to much call your doctor and let him or her know But try and take this medication about the same time each day And you should start to feel some changes soon but it does take 6 to 8 weeks to reach the full blood level of this medication. Try and be patient and know that this is all normal But you should also start to feel some relief prior to the 6 to 8 weeks. As I said it is very normal for the anxiety and other symptoms to get worse before it gets better and this is normal Chuck1957
