... his abuse of drinking lean or hydrocodone can affect his diabetes. His use of it is every day and if he don't have the syrup to make a cup he takes a pill. He say it doesn't do anything to his blood sugar but the drink that he is using to mix it has to affect something but he keeps telling me it's nothing. Am I being over concerned or is this an issue I shouldn't let go
Alcohol converts to sugar in your blood stream so yes it would elevate his blood sugars. I have a family history of diabetes but don't have it myself. I credit being VEGAN has kept it at bay. It is proven that this "diet" can decrease needs for medicine for diabetes.
Your boyfriend sounds like he is in denial about his condition. Doesn't like change. Just an observation...
