I currently take mettformim twice a day and lately I noticed that my reading are inching up while I have been staying on my diet. Would this new medicine be beneficial to me? I am on medicare and have a rx plan with my medical insurance and was wondering if it will be a tier one medicine or what.
I don't know what medication you are talking about, but there are many other meds for type 2 diabetes besides metformin. Metformin is the only one that is tier one on my part D because its the only generic. Most of the new diabetes meds are at least tier 2, and most are tier 3. All plans vary a little. With the newer meds, the manufacturers have programs to help with payment of their medications. Drinking alot of water can help keep your blood sugar down.
