There are 2 types. The first one is when your pancreas stops producing enough insulin and your body can't control the amount of sugar in your blood. The 2nd is when your body can't use the insulin, its called insulin resistance. Sometimes its a combination that you need to add insulin and take pills that helps you use that insulin. Both can have major complications if the blood sugar isn't controlled well. Drinking enough water and getting exercise can also help control the sugar, along with your diet.
