why is dexamethasone combined with lorazepam in the treatment of anticipatory nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy ?
Corticosteroids (including dexamethasone) are commonly used as anti-emetics to help prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. How it works is not fully understood. It is often used alongside other anti-emetics.
Lorazepam may sometimes be used to relieve anxiety associated with CINV before administration of chemotherapy.
