I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2002 when I was 12 yrs old. I have been on Lamictal, Vyvanse, Topamax, Abilify, Strattera and Welbutrin that I can remember. If I remember correctly Strattera helped the most but that was the first one they tried. But my insurance doesn't cover it. I am currently taking Latuda 40 mg once a day and lithium 450 mg twice a day but I have a hard time remembering to take my pills and I believe they both cause weight gain. Would this be a good medication to ask my doctor about on Wednesday?
hello there, im sorry to hear you have had to try so many meds.. its tough finding the right ones. i do not have bipolar but i was diagnosed with agitated depression or "mixed mania" major depressive disorder in 2014, which has similar symptoms to bipolar, i tried sooo many different meds and landed on desvenlafaxine(pristiq) 150mg was my dose, and it worked wonders!! i slowed down, less agitated and racing thoughts went away.. i think it could be good for you. but thats just my opinion, wishing u well x
