... Anyone have any suggestions on helping with the itch and pain, that is Not a prescription drug? Also anyone get huge swelling on the arms/legs where the blisters appear? I can barely bend my arm it is so swollen from DH... help!
This probably isn't what you want to hear, but if you are already seeing a dermatologist and on other medications, it sounds like you need to check in with your Dr. If your arm is swelling to that degree, and its never done so before, there may be an infection. Our skin is our first line of defense and yours is already plagued by problems. If any of the blisters have opened, that gives an entryway to bacteria to set up an infection. You don't need that now.
Even over the counter drugs can interact adversely with other drugs. Not only that, but your Dr. needs to know what you are wanting to take so that his records will be complete. That way, if there is a reaction to a medication or he needs to start another one, it will save both of you time. At anyrate, I wouldn't put anything on yourself without checking with your dermatologist first.
