A quick check of the literature, which is very limited, suggests this would be a bad idea if the amount is more than 5 mg per day. It's effectiveness in weight loss is not documented, but it is used to some effect in depression. It can be toxic at doses above 5 mg per day and many people have allergic reactions.
I would either avoid it totally, ask my doctor or check with a CERTIFIED herbalist.
