... the subs, so now 5 mos on it and I feel more depressed than before. He switched me to zoloft on fri, but I am experiencing strange side effects.and feel like.im goin crazy, what is the best ssri out there?
Was the celexa not working for you? What dose were you on? How long were you on it? It does take weeks, or longer to feel the full impact of many a/d's.
What dosage of sub are you on? Have you gone up and/or down OR both since you started the sub?
I take celexa (also known as citalopram), 40mg.
I find, for the most part, it works.
I was diagnosed with clinical depression over 30 years ago, so depression is not new for me. Have you been depressed before or is this something you (and your doctor) feel is suboxone related?
How about adjusting your dose? Is your dose-minus the depression-working for you in other aspects? By this I mean, is this dose of sub you are on taking care of the w/d's symptoms? Are your cravings gone-or at least, for the most part?
Let me know how you're doing, OK/
I'll 'friend' you and then we can talk, personally, if you'd like.
Dear Julie, welcome to the site. No 2 antidepressants act the same way and what might work for one person may not work for you. You need to tell the dr your celexa isn't working for you. I always recommend using an addiction therapist too, your counselor can help guide you, many people skip the counseling but it really helps.I went thru a deep depression when I first started subs, the counselor caught it and got me back to the subsmdr for a small dose of fluoxetine. That is generic Prozac, I was already on 25mgs of amitriptyline, then got 10 mgs of fluoxetine and was so much better my friend at group saw it and said he saw the depression lift in me. Could you list how many mgs of subs you're on. And how much celexa. If you are on a high dose of subs, it may also be affecting you.
Call your dr tomorrow and tell him the celexa isn't working.pAttishan
