... overdosed on 80 rx sleeping pills... nothing is getting better and i can stop thinking about suicide. I am good at hiding how i feel beacuse i have done it for so long. My husband is sick of dealing with all my problems and he says to just get over it... i dont know how and i need help
Calm down firstly. You are not the only one in the world with this problem. There are many drugs out there and drug combinations out there for you to try. It seems like you can not find the right one. In the mean time try some yoga, I am really serious, it will teach you to relax. Also talk to your doctor about Bio-feedback.
Have you ever heard of doodle art? It is poster size paper with drawings on it and tiny shapes to color in. This is using color penciles. When my thoughts start running I put those thoughts in a different direction. If you can not find something like this start some of those paint by number ingore the numbers. Many people with mental health issues are artists. For some reason they do quite well. Many make money off of their art. Do not say you can not do it. You are more in touch with color than you think. Color is like feelings and I can tell you are intouch with your feelings.
Please let us know on how you do trying these tips.
cognitive behavioral therapy has the highest success rate for depression and anxiety. for the bio-feedback im assuming you mean meditation while hooked up to machines, so i would say just meditation in general would help you relax. if these dont work you could try inpatient treatment for a month or so at a hospital. Group therapy run by a psychologist would be quite helpful.
ps "just get over it" shows he doesnt really know anything about major depression at all
I know it does not make you feel any better to know that there are alot of us out here who feel the wat you do. Not at this moment anyway. So let's talk about you. Your first step is a good one you are reaching out. I can tell you we have all been where you are now and it is not a good feeling. It is a lonely one. Your husband I think loves you and cares about you but just doesn't know how to handle this. Those who have never so much as had a panick attack can't fanthom what you are feeling. Many feel you can pull yourself out it let when you have a buzz on from drinking and something terrible happens you can snap yourself back to reality they have no clue this is not how it is. I also know that when you are asleep is the only time you do not feel the pain. So what better option than eternal sleep WRONG you do not want that anymore than I or anyone else does. If you really feel like you want to die or it is the only answer STOP IT.
You are here on this earth for a reason there are people who need you what would happen if you are not there. Like I said STOP and get help don't try to hide it. Who are you lying to that way. Only yourself. You took pills before where did it get you? You know there are resourses out there use them. Call you psychiatrist or go to a E.R. There are so many people out there to help you and you are worth being helped. You will get past this. It will take time. Days seem like weeks when you feel the way you are feeling. So start now. Do not waste anymore days in the black hole. I find that reading questions on this site and joining support groups for people who feel like I do is a tremendous help. I do not feel alone anymore. Please get help right now do not wait until tomorrow. Good luck and please stay in touch God bless I will pray for you but will you do me a favor say a prayer for me too. Knowing we are not alone or some kind of weirdos helps especially when you can come on line any time and know there are so many people ready to listen and help. Keep in touch Barb
If you could "just get over it", I'm quite sure you would. You need help, not tomorrow, NOW. If you are saying that you cannot contract with anyone that you can be safe, then you need to go to your nearest emergency room and ask for helpw ith suicidal thoughts... they are required by law to help you, even if you can't pay. They will get you some where that you can get help and, hopefully, some where that you can learn some positive coping skills so that suicide doesn't seem like the only answer for you. Mliddia, I hope you will take this to heart and go get help. If you want, you can post back anytime and I will read it... I check this community EVERY day. You need help and d eserve it... a doctor will help you find the right combination of meds so that you can function daily without felling depressed all of the time. Please, take my advice into consideration. I'll bechecking here to see if you've posted back. Good luck and God bless.
First, is the thought of suicide an obsessive thought? If so then maybe you should talk to your doctor about prescribing you a medicine that will help with obsessive thoughts. I to had this problem and I was misdiagnosed by more than one doctor. I was first told that I had depression with psychotic thoughts, and then I was finally truly diagnosed with OCD with depression. The right medicines stopped the thoughts that I was having. Suicide is a strong end to someone's life, you will never know if life would've gotten better or how things will be. Sometimes, you hit a rough patch in life and it is VERY difficult to get though, but you just have to keep pulling yourself to get over the hump no matter how much it hurts and wears you down. Maybe talking with a counselor can really help find the root of your depression and suicidal thoughts.
Just remember that you may not feel at this precise moment or recently, but there are people out there who truly care what happens to you, even a total stranger. Add me as a friend if you would like and we can talk about some of the problems that you are facing in life. And, your husband may have problems of his own that he is not dealing with appropriately. This is not your fault. It is possible to have both people in a marriage need psychiatric medicine. But, without knowing anything else about your husband I can't say much. Please, remember that you are cared for and will be in our thoughts and prayers here in Kentucky. Have a Merry Christmas!!!
