It is difficult in the winter, we lack sunshine that helps make us feel good, so if the sun is shining in your cold clime, get thee outside (in your parka) and soak up some of the rays, it just may help if you do this as often as you are able.
I just want to add that if you are experiencing Seasonal Affected Disorder, or if you notice you become depressed during the winter months, that there exist light-boxes that you can find online to deliver the much needed light source that will help your brain concur your depression, along with therapy and probably a medication. Just sayin'...
Hi, Dani! I'm so glad you wrote! Like you said, sometimes we need to just talk and know that there are others who... understand!
I haven't tried Latuda because Seroquel/lithiul/Effexor are working pretty well, but Latuda is an antipsychotic, not an antidepressant, that's usually prescribed for Bipolar depression.
Lara has a good tip with the lightbox. I always feel much worse with the coming of winter. At first, I felt quite silly sitting in front of the box every day but it really does help. Us Northerners almost always have low Vitamin D levels from lack of sunlight in winter. My PCP told me that over 80% of people in Pennsylvania test low. It wouldn't hurt to check on that, just a quick blood test, and if you're low you just take a cheap supplement. Low Vit D can really affect depression.
Hang in, sweetie, and know we're all together in this, supporting each other, and we... UNDERSTAND!
My best wishes, WCV
Yes, depression can be a problem for some of us! I have suffered for years until I found Lithium along with Manerix has taken care of my major depression for good! I have been depression free for 5 years! I am enjoying my family and my life once again! Hope you find what can work for you soon!
I said a prayer for you! God is a big part of my life and he has always been there for me with everything I have been through.
